Greg Merrigan – President & Founder

Greg Merrigan

As founder of Merrigan Energy Group, Greg has over 25 years of experience in the energy industry with a wealth of expertise in the areas of Power Trading, Market Origination, Project Development, Power Plant Operations, Transmission/Distribution Operations and Asset Management.

This experience includes ten years at Berkshire Hathaway’s MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company and twelve years with the U.S. federal government (Department of Energy power marketing administrations and military).

Since founding Merrigan Energy Group, much of Greg’s time has been focused on utility board level management consulting, M&A due diligence on energy companies, market origination, PPA negotiations, commercialization of new power plants, wind development and implementation of Midwest ISO dispatchable Intermittent resource requirements for operating wind farms.

  • Jan Christian Andersen – Vice President, Energy Strategy

    Jan has served as an advisor to some of the world’s leading energy companies on public affairs issues and has also served in the executive leadership of an energy industry lobbying association.

    Jan brings 15 years of experience to the team on brand building, strategic communications, government & public affairs, political consulting and community relations. He has worked with companies in a number of diverse industries ranging from energy and online sales to tourism and entertainment. He has developed brand, marketing and public affairs strategies all over the United States and in other parts of the world.

    In the field of renewable energy, Jan spent 5 years with Wind Capital Group where managed legislative affairs in 16 different states, led the team who permitted the first ever wind farm in Florida, served on the American Wind Energy Associations Public Affairs Committee and as Treasurer for The Wind Coalition, the lobbying arm of the wind industry in 8+ states. Additionally he has served as a corporate spokesperson, along with implementing local educational and giving programs across the country.

    He is also a founding partner of Pushup.com, Lab1500 and Ignition Tank, along with being an advisory board member of Five Corners Strategies for Energy Strategy. 

  • Bernard Raemy – Principal, Project Development

    Bernard Raemy founded Helvemas in 2006. He served as Vice President & Head of Geothermal Development with Terra-Gen Power from 2009 until 2012. Before that, he spent 5 years as a developer with MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company doing geothermal and natural gas-fired development. He has also worked as an engineer and project manager for ABB and Alstom Power.

    Bernard holds a mechanical engineering degree from “la haute ecole arc ingenieurie” in the Jura Mountains of Switzerland and a Masters of Business Administration from Duke University.

  • Michael P. Fawdry, P.E. – Principal, Civil and Environmental Engineering

    Michael Fawdry has more than 30 years of experience in civil and environmental engineering including strategic regulatory planning, comprehensive environmental compliance implementation, site remedial investigation and implementation, demand and use energy consulting, civil design and construction management.

    Michael has held a number of senior positions with environmental consulting and engineering firms. As an independent consultant, he has been responsible for a wide variety of environmentally related projects for a variety of clients throughout the USA.

    Michael holds a BSCEE from Clarkson University and an AAS from Jefferson Community College. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in New York. He is a Member of the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industries (TAPPI) and a Member of the National Society of Professional Engineers.

  • Pat West – Principal, Asset Management and Operations

    Patrick West provides consulting services to the metals and energy sectors. He is the CEO and COO for Met Company, Inc, a metals company primarily serving Power, Oil & Gas and Telecom industries, where he is responsible for managing all aspects of Met’s operation.

    Previously, Patrick was Chief Operating Officer at BP Wind Energy North America where he developed, constructed and operated over 2500 MW of wind energy assets. Prior to BP, he was the Senior Vice President of Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Operations at Invenergy, a leading Independent Power Producer (IPP) located in Chicago, where he constructed and operated over 4000 MW of natural gas combined cycle, peaking and wind energy assets. Before that, he held various positions with Bechtel Power and Bechtel IPP affiliates US Generating and InterGen.

    Patrick is a licensed professional engineer, holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University and an MBA from DePaul University.
